Brett and Maddie had the perfect summer engagement session at Lyndale Rose Gardens! I honestly don’t know if I had experienced a better summer evening in Minnesota. Both of them can attest, I was geeking out the whole time! The rose gardens have so much color and beauty to offer, it’s hard not to have a picture worthy location. For their second half of the session, we took a stroll over to Lake Harriet Bandshell for some sailboats and water views! They chose to do their engagement session at Lyndale Rose Gardens, because they take frequent walks together at this special location.

These lovebirds met during their freshman year at the University of Minnesota. Their first date was at the Noodles & Company in Stadium Village just before finals had begun. And their favorite date was a weekend getaway to Fort Lauderdale where they enjoyed relaxing on the beach, eating key lime pie and exploring! That sounds like a blast to me! 

Brett proposed on a sweet Saturday morning date. They started with breakfast at one of the couples favorite bakeries and walked along Minnehaha Creek. Once they got to the bridge, Brett got down on one knee and pulled out the ring!! After the proposal, they went on a surprise visit to both of their parents’ house to share the big news! 

Maddie loves that Brett values learning and how he takes in the world around him. She says he’s always excited to try something new or figure out how something works. He applies it to many areas of his life including–trying new restaurants, reading books, learning about history or taking intentional time to catch up with friends. Brett really appreciates Maddie’s thoughtfulness in all that she does. He notices how she builds strong, lasting friendships by listening and caring for others. He loves her attention to detail, carefree smile and sweet laugh. 

I can’t wait for you to see the beautiful images from their engagement session at Lyndale Rose Gardens! It was spectacular. Thank you Brett and Maddie for allowing me to be a part of your special day! Next summer can’t come soon enough at the Landmark Center!
