Being a wedding photographer in Minnesota is truly a dream come true! I get to work with the best people and I’m so honored to get to be a part of such a special day. Connor and Laiken’s northern Minnesota wedding was no exception. They are some of the sweetest people and not to mention two of my good friends!

I met these two back in college. I knew Connor before he and Laiken started dating. He was in my friend group and he had the energy level no one could match! He is one of the most joyful people I know and has the best positivity! Since Connor started dating Laiken, I have loved getting to know her! Laiken is so kind and caring. Her sweet presence is so calming to be around and the two of them compliment each other so well!

Connor and Laiken were married in Grand Rapids, Minnesota at Bluewater Covenant Bible Camp where Laiken grew up going to. So special! The weather wasn’t exactly perfect, but the couple was ready to go with the flow and not let it put a damper on their day. The rain started to come at the beginning of the first look and continued throughout the afternoon. Thankfully, the reception building had an awning so the bridal party and family formal photos took place under there. About 30 minutes before the ceremony was supposed to start, the rain stopped. The seats were quickly wiped off and the alter piece installed. It was a beautiful ceremony!

The ceremony took place right on the beach with the perfect view of the deep blue lake and outline of trees. One of my favorite moments from the ceremony was watching Connor well up with emotion when Laiken came down the aisle. It’s every bride’s dream that her man would tear up and Connor’s reaction was priceless. These two love the Lord so much and it was so beautiful to witness throughout their entire ceremony.

After the ceremony, we snuck away to take some more couple’s portraits to make up for some time during the afternoon rain and then again in the evening for sunset photos. This is such a wonderful example of why it’s so important to make sure you don’t let the weather stress you out! There’s always other options and we can always make up for time throughout the day. I’m more than willing to help you structure your timeline and will be with you the entire day to make sure everything goes smoothly!
